Pictures….
I haven’t had a chance to upload photos yet but my sister in law jen has put some of the girls on her blog.
The Girls
Arielle is loving having her cousins around but is having to learn to share and not bite when she gets angry! She is such a extrovert and loves being right up next to her cousin Emma Grace. She follows her around and is always touching or rubbing up next to her. Zoe is adjusting fine to the time change but still waking us up around 5am every morning! She now has six teeth at the age of 7.5 months.
Anneke breathed a sigh of relief the first few days back in South Africa. I imagine it is very similar to the feeling you get when you pull in the drive way after a very long trip. On top of that we are staying with family where she can break free of full time parenting while the cousins play with each other and occupy each others time.
We still have to travel to capetown for December holiday and it will be another adjustment for all of them. Keep praying for the transition and all the traveling. Cheers, Z and the girls.
Allowing God to Speak
As we scout out the land here with the 10,000 Homes Project we realize a reoccurring theme in sensing God’s direction. It is that no matter how smooth or abrupt our transition that somehow the actual point of the move is not a one time action from the Lord but rather just one in a series of actions, thoughts, revelations and relationships that the Lord has somehow put together. I experienced several times when you sense God’s direction to a specific place that it is not the actual “Voice of the Lord” but rather the exclamation mark on a long paragraph filled with much minor scenarios such as God word and spirit leading you to change the way you think or behave. God giving you compassion and tears for others that even afterward you really can’t explain. I believe God is always leading us, we sometimes place more significant on certain parts of it but God is intricately working in our lives. If we catch on to the little things He is speaking to us then the big things aren’t so intimidating!
Over the past year in seeking the Lords direction Anneke and I have been looking for the large sign in the cloud. We have been surprised that it never arrived but still confident in what the Lord was doing in us as a couple and family so we kept walking step by step.
We came to Africa not knowing what to do but knowing it is the next step. As we scout out the possibilities and connect what God is doing in our lives with the choices we have to make we don’t necessarily feel a super emotional event but rather a continuation of the peace God has given us on this journey.
A peace that tells us He is in control. A peace that says He is leading us and has created us to be a influence in our own unigue way. A peace that says, “God for It”! even if you dont have hope or strength. Peace that gives you courage to do what He has created you to do!
We made it.
Well, after 6 days of traveling we made it safely to YWAM Kruger, Witrivier, South Africa. The girls and us are just about over our jet lag and really thankful to have be able to make Jeremy and Jen’s house a home for a couple of weeks. Thank you so much for your prayers. We flew with Emirates Airlines and had a wonderful experience. They pulled us to the front of every line and even brought Arielle a big chocolate cake with here name written on the top with icing. They really served us and we would definitely fly with them again if we have the chance! I hope to put photos of our trip up soon when i get a better connection and more time so keep posted. Cheers, Zachary and Girls.
