NEW 10 000 HOMES VIDEO
We just made a new video. Take some time to be enlightened on the the orphan crisis in South Africa.
10K Tuesday
We here at 10 000 HOMES send out a report everyweek. It contains amazing stories of our volunteers, orphans and alot more. I decided to post this weeks report on my blog. It is called “10K Tuesday” is is written by Lindsey Kaufman…
Thank you for praying with us on this 10K Tuesday! Please continue to pray for our Compassion DTS outreach, which arrived safely in Uganda. We are trusting God to really move in the lives of our students and the orphans they are able to minister to.
On May 5th, there will be a gathering at University Village of the main volunteers in Kabokweni and Mbonosweni. We hope this time will be a big blessing to the women who are so faithful in their care of the orphans in their communities. Our heart is that they will feel appreciated for their service and know that they are not in this alone. Please pray that God will encourage the volunteers and speak life to them through this gathering.
When we lay down to sleep at night, most of us take it for granted that we’ll have a nice, comfortable mattress to sleep on. For many of the kids we work with in the communities, this is a luxury completely foreign to them. Earlier this year, TTH donated mattresses to about 20 children in Mbonosweni that Victoria knew were in desperate need. What a practical way of showing these kids that their Father in Heaven cares enough about them to keep them comfortable at night!
Blessings,
Lindsey Kaufman

Jessica the Hippo
We had the privilege of meeting Jessica the Hippo. As a baby she was washed away form her mother in a flood. A south African couple rescued her and has brought her up as one of their own. The is completely tame. You can pet her and feed her. She eats 80kg of dog food a day and drinks 40lt of Red Bush tea. She spends her days entertaining guest, evening with her family watching TV and sleeps with the dogs. She is really sweat but the girls were still a little scared!
