Though written about the courageous firemen, who lost their lives at the World Trade Center, I often think of these lyrics after spending time with incredible people. People such as Elizabeth, who not only feeds 150 kids from her garage, but also loves them, fights for them, and dreams with them for a hopeful, brighter future. Young people like Pinkie, while left as the sole caregiver for her young sister and orphaned herself, gives of herself unconditionally for the orphans in her neighborhood.
I am overwhelmed by their strength, by their faith, by the hope growing inside of them, and by the love they show with such unselfish consideration.
We write this newsletter that you might read these amazing stories, that they might give you strength, faith, hope, and love. I hope you are encouraged and I hope you respond, joining in the amazing move of God.
You see, you have the power to encourage us as well. By reading, praying, giving, dreaming, coming, engaging, you breathe courage into us. Into the ones who give so selflessly and to love ones they love so much.
This is not about charity. This is about faith, hope, and love. Three things that endure. Three things that change the world.
